iGoogle

I like the "iGoogle" page thing. I guess that is is like blogging only gives you more gadgets and holds everything on the one page for you to keep up with. Sort of like having your own personal newspaper and interest page for daily perusal.

Delicious.....mmmm

This is an interesting way to look at saving and storing all your websites etc. It is sort of like having your own web page for your favourites. You can have them just for yourself or for your friends .....stored all in one handy place that you can access from anywhere there is a computer. I guess that this is handy if you are on the move all the time......or just away from home. In some ways it can be like a big version of email between friends, only the info/pics are not hogging your memory on your computer. (Just one small way to look at it) It is also a good way to look up varying subjects and peoples interpretations on them. Can take you off in a whole different direction. There is so much information out there.....but I guess that its just a matter of finding out what medium best suits your personal needs as we are all different in the ways that we learn, take things in and progress. Can be a big learning curve and at times very time consuming, but we need to explore the different ways that the world is progressing so that we can : a) Keep up with it and b) make learning more interesting and interactive for the young minds of today..... as well as the old.

Flickr.....and More Flickr

Hi all. It has been quite some time since I graced the wonderful world of web with my presence as I have been off on holidays enjoying the delights of Far North Queensland. (yes you can be jealous!.....it was absolutely fantastic and I didn't want to come back, but due to responsibilities, here I am.....and here we go so hold on tight!) Flickr....like I said it has been a while since I graced the 'wwow'...so I have to re read this subject and see where I was up to as I didn't manage to blog it, wiki it etc.....I think I did sandbox it though. Alas the memory lapses nowdays and it is time to refresh and forge my way forward through Flickr. "Stop flapping your gums and 'JUST DO IT!' Haych." OK then. :)

Wiki's

From just a first glance at Wiki's I can see that they would be a great source of information and possibly... reference for people doing research or questing for certain information. I am not to wild about the way anybody and everybody can change things, but this may just be me. I will power on and see where it takes me in the world of Wiki.

Movi....moving on

Well here we are back at it again. This week it is Movi 2 and I like this form of technology. It is nice to have that personal touch and good to see another face. It can also create a learning experience for others. I use a similar system called skype to read to my grandkids online, showing them the pictures and doing actions for the characters. We also sing with actions etc. and play 'Simple Simon' and stuff that we can do together. I find Movi2 similar to 'skype' but is geared more towards a more work orienteered atmosphere, protecting bandwidth etc., and linking the clients to the workplace. Technology like this has great possibilities and can create the feeling of not being so isolated when you are in remote areas...or when circumstances don't permit you to be there in person.......... We have certainly come a long way. I am not sure how but I am sure that this could be incorporated into a blog or website for things like discussions from librarians with external customers, authors of books talking to people as a special event, lecturers with students. The possibilities for its uses are endless. I think its great! :0)

Moving onward and upward....and away from RSS. Tomorrow is another new day dawning and I will strive to discover the powers of Movi and See and Share then. I think I need a lunchbreak and a coffee!

RSS feeds - Post #2

Hi all. Big challenge just finding time to sit and look at this stuff somedays, but I have managed this week to take a look at this subject. It is quite a useful thing this RSS as far as promoting information onto your site. You can put all this information in without it taking up the space. Sort of like ... points of interest. I guess that you can get lost in the different places that it takes you sometimes and in that respect it can be time consuming if you dont stay focused.....but then, that is what it is all about.....exploring and discovering.
